I found Black Maple in an online search for kid-friendly piercing studios for my 11-year old (and I also got my 2nd earlobes redone). I was incredibly impressed by this business--and specifically by our professional piercer Angelina. She whole staff was very welcoming. Angelina didn't rush us when picking our jewelry, she explained everything in detail, spent a lot of time making sure the placements were exactly as we wanted them, and took her time with the piercing process. If you're looking to get your child's ears pierced, this is the place to go. From the second we walked in, the staff were nothing but friendly, enthusiastic, and professional. Angelina was so thorough - walking not only me, but also my daughter, through every step of the process. The studio offered beautiful jewelry of the highest quality and was immaculately clean. I went in to buy a new ring for my septum piercing, but I was disappointed by the experience. Instead of being shown any jewelry, the woman at the register immediately told me she wouldn't sell me what I wanted for two reasons: 1) my piercing wasn't healed enough. My piercing is only one month (4 weeks) old and not ready to changed, which I know since my piercer advised me of this.
