When I finally decided I wanted to get this tattoo done after talking about it for years, I'd already been following Roger on instagram for a while just because I liked his style of neo geo tribal tattoo so much. During our consult I brought an idea of what I was looking for and wanted him to have creative license for the execution. I started this journey by wanting a fresh tattoo for my birthday (9/11) however once I realized tattooing is not what it used to be... I started my quest to find the perfect artist. During my quest I ran across Studio After 5 by word of mouth and friends. So I booked with my little doodle/drawing with all my ideas and I was able booked with Roger, the owner! Initially, I was sad because my guy was booked and busy, not being available until about 2 weeks later but that was fine, I needed to build my nerves up anyway....

I have been getting tattooed by Roger for years now, and love the experience in his shop each time. It's incredibly clean, he is diligent about sanitizing the space and using fresh materials on each client. Tattooing Black folks' skin is a particular skill and Roger and the other artists at Studio After 5 have that skill.
